This is an exercise in deconstruction. It’s one part me realizing the sheer genius of Badmotorfinger-era Soundgarden and equal part frustration during a particularly difficult rehearsal. We were arguing, and I just started playing the main guitar riff. The sheer simplicity of the song is what makes it special to me. It came together in about 5 minutes. The song embodies where we were as a band at the time of its writing — frustrated, angry, determined and no BS. - D2 Day
lyrics
Baby baby I was plugging my light into you,
for lately too long to remember.
And baby baby I was hearing you call me a user,
but throughout these dog days I've delivered.
And baby baby I was thinking of you,
and a time when a mood had you looking so good,
baby baby if you come back for more,
I would open the door and I would let you on in, yeah.
Baby baby I was plugging my light into you,
but you were way too codependent,
And baby baby I was hearing you call me a user,
but throughout these dog days I've delivered.
And baby baby I was thinking of you,
and a time when a mood had you looking so good,
baby baby if you come back for more,
I would open the door and I would let you on in, yeah.
Such a shame, she was a fine woman.
Such a shame, she was a fine woman.
but for lately too long to remember,
through dog days I've delivered,
you see me half a step up,
believe me, I've been better.
Dog days, I've delivered
Dog days, I've delivered
Dog days, I've delivered,
and withered, and withered, and withered, and withered
Baby baby I was thinking of you,
and a time when a mood had you looking so good,
baby baby if you come back for more,
I would open the door and I would let you on in, yeah.

Formed in Houston, TX but hailing from across the country, Black Queen Speaks came together for a common love of the
almighty groove. Their sound is an amalgamation of blues, hard rock, grunge, 70’s funk, dance, and soul peppered with flourishes of 90’s hip hop. In short, Black Queen Speaks can best be described as if Jane’s Addiction and Soundgarden got their asses kicked by James Brown....more
